"A GIFT FOR SOME ONE YOU CANT MEET"

Individual work

For this assignment we were assigned to design a birthday gift  for a friend we cannot meet in person due to  the current corona virus pandemic and movement restrictions set by governments across the world.
This was an interesting assignment because after completing the empathy stage, i actually got to look at my friend in a new perspective and learnt really how much he loves his music and musical instruments. Which is why i designed the gift i did. Although it was unfortunate that i wasn't able to create the physical gift, even though it wasn't required, because of lack of materials due to the pandemic.

'VIRTUAL AWARENESS; NEW NORMAL'

group work

For this assignment i was placed in a group of six members to discuss spreading 'awareness of animal adoption'.

Like the previous assignment this was focused around the corona virus pandemic. We had to assume roles of consultants of an organisation, to develop an action plan and present a report  on the assigned topic.

I enjoyed this assignment because it was a group assignment, i kind of got an insight of what working with others on a 'professional' project might feel like in the future. i learnt that its always important to contribute your ideas and listen to other peoples ideas as well. I also enjoyed this assignment with a few tips on how businesses can operate during this pandemic, which i am seeing large corporations implement.

TOY DESIGN : PLAY AND THE ACT OF PLAY

Individual work

For the final assignment we were assigned to design toys that respond to specific body part movement.
I was given neck and shoulder "the support of the body" as i like to call them. These toys are also intended for children in rural areas which made the assignment even more interesting.
I enjoyed this assignment firstly the thought of designing something for the less fortunate for me was inspiring. which is why i think my empathy generally improved from the last assignment i did. I am happy with the outcome of my

TAYLOR'S GRADUATE CAPABILITIES REVIEW

After the completion of each assignment i  picked up the following skills

Assignment 1- I picked up TGC 2.1 due to the fact that our tutors and lecturers were miles away from me i had to learn to  independently and not get spoon fed like in secondary school. i learnt how to carry out research on topics assigned and the importance of reading extra things that the teacher didnt generally emphasize on.

Assignment 2- During the second assignment i picked up a few more TGCs such as 5.1 because it was a group assignment i learnt the importance of listening to other opinions when pitching ideas and the importance of voicing your concerns if you have any that can help the group. i also got to learn the importance of trying to understand each team member and their perspectives. I also picked up  TGC 4.1 learnt how to  conduct myself in a group  setting.

Assignment 3- Finally in this assignment i picked up TGC 3.2. because this was the final assignment i believe with the experience i gained from the other two assignments and feedback from my tutor i carried out my research better and more in depth.

I believe with these skills it will be easier for me to  settle in not only in my undergraduate studies but also in general life.
