PROJECT 1: GEOMETRY AND FORM

This was my first project of this semester i was asked to design and create three 10x10 cm tattoo stamps featuring 1 design element and 1 design principle from the the options given in the project brief. After successfully completing our tattoo stamps we were required to translate these elements in a 10x10x10 cm model. The project introduced us to the application of design elements and principles into the manipulation of geometric shapes.

PROJECT 2: BAMBOO PROJECT

This was the second project of the semester where we were asked to apply the elements and principles learnt in project 1, to this 1:1 scale bamboo structure. This was also the first group project of the module. My group and I choose seating as a banal action, the structure was also required to provide shade to its user. We explored how bamboo can be joined and and constructed to create a stable comfortable structure, to fit people of all sizes using anthropometric research.

PROJECT 3: SPACE & SENSORY: SELF EXPLORATION
THROUGH SPACES

A final conclusive project to the previous two, Project III prompted us to craft out a structure containing a series of spaces - sensorial spaces - that expressed the personal emotions of our experiences during our first year of university. We were to design this 20m3 structure using Three materials from the materials listed in the brief. I set  out to design a structure that expresses the emotions of loneliness, confusion and hope.

REFECTION

This was one of the more demanding modules of the semester. Challenging both your mental abilities and physical strength. The lectures and assignments constantly try to push you to think of innovative ways to solve the project before you. Even though I feel like I would have done much better if I pushed myself constantly and continuously, I am happy that I did not give up and always ensured I did the work. With each assignment presented before us I always aspired to rise to the occasion and complete the task.

For my TGC reflection the biggest lesson was Thinking and Problem-Solving skills I learned to constantly try solve my problems using research and translating them to my ideas.
